Bathroom Renovations – What is Trending Up may Surprise You!

Today I spent a precious hour, in the chair at the hairdresser, scouring a home design magazine. It was enjoyable and there were a lot of bathroom renovation trends that inspired me. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until I had finished making my way through all the glossy pages that I realized the magazine was three years out of date. I’m not great at keeping up with trends, but am willing to do my research on ‘trending’ when it comes to:
  • buying a big ticket item
  • buying something that is going to be with me for many years
  • buying something that reflects who I am
  • buying something that will be hard to replace
Renovating a bathroom is one of those things that will include all of the above, so it’s one of the things I am willing to research. So show me the trends! The bathroom spa, so popular in the last decade, is on the decline. What is on the rise includes luxury that looks large, but takes up little space. What says luxury more than a bathroom TV? The world is your oyster with a click of a button! But how to know which waterproof TV is right for you?

In general, the plasma TV was the leader of the pack: they were bigger and had a better picture quality. So a few years ago, the waterproof plasma TV would have been the best choice. But now the LCD has caught up to match it, so a bathroom LCD could be right for you (this is a competition driven by the market, so shop around with your local waterproof TV suppliers for any deals on bathroom LCD TV sets.)

As for the waterproof LED TV, now we’re talking about a trend on the upswing! This cutting edge technology is a thing of tiny and precise beauty. Techno geeks predict that one day the LED TV will be as thin as the credit card you buy it with. Most bathroom TV suppliers today seem to concur with the techno-geeks in finding that the best middle ground right now, and in the immediate future, is to install a waterproof LCD TV. Yes, it must be a waterproof LCD – even if it is not right beside the shower, sink or tub.

Space saving is the one of the key considerations with renovations these days, especially when it comes to the bathroom (visit a few condo open houses and you’ll see what I mean!) The adage of getting `more for less` certainly holds true in today’s tough economy more than ever. The bathroom mirror TV does this beautifully: combining form and function in a unique, efficient and space-saving way.  My bathroom TV LCD does double duty – a mirror for my vanity (and make-up applications!) and a TV for my spirit.

My LCD TV for bathroom use may not be able to massage my back, but it can massage my mind. The LCD in bathroom trend is escalating: if you are considering a lavatory upgrade you may want to consider what waterproof TV Australia has to offer:  a sassy little LCD TV in bathroom.

The Outdoor LED TV of my Dreams

Back in my days of being a part time chef, I worked for a ‘wealthy’ family. Their billion dollar home, designed by them and then painstakingly built by the best local contractors that money could buy had all the modern trappings imaginable.  And what lovely trappings they were!  The patio off the kitchen (That harboured three separate refrigerators) held a selection of glossy cookbooks. One day, thumbing my way through the collection for dinner ideas, I inadvertently leaned on a blue granite counter top. With this movement, a soft whirling sound began to trumpet in the rise of a sleek television set. I was gob-smacked by this surprise – a hidden TV where space was most certainly not an issue. The elegant stow-away TV set was a further example of the builders doing everything right. Why?  Because you cannot just smack any TV set in any given area, especially where there are environmental factors like moisture, direct sun, rain, hail, snow and wind to consider.

I wondered why the Riches (this surname is made-up as I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement upon being hired!) didn’t choose an outdoor TV cabinet or some sort of outdoor TV enclosure to house their telly in. It occurred to me that if they wanted an outdoor LCD TV – (Wah and e-gads! Upon closer inspection I realized that it was actually an outdoor LED TV, oooh I began to drool at the sexy cutting-edge technology!) – Why not simply house it in a weatherproof TV box or weatherproof TV enclosure.  Then I remembered that I had once met one of the chief contractors on the project who glowingly described (at the time I didn’t realize he meant the house that I would one day work in!) how they were ordered to spare no expense in ensuring that everything had been done better than the best.  The reason that the contractors did not opt for a simple weatherproof TV cover was because any short-cuts would have been a very poor alternative to having a television that is designed to be used outside.

So if you are considering an outdoor LCD television (or want to ask the Riches to get you an LED) don’t be tempted to settle for anything less than an outdoor weatherproof TV that has been designed and made, according to all necessary specifications by a reliable TV manufacturer. Although there are many reputable brands of televisions, the Riches` contractors along with so many others in the regions of Australia, consider Liquifi to be the market leader if you are seeking a Bathroom TV, a Kitchen TV or an Outdoor TV.

You may not have the budget of the upper crust who is able to buy a top of the line weatherproof LED TV, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy your favorite programs while sitting on your deck. A weatherproof LCD TV is within the reach of all of us today, with a little help from Liquifi.

What to Look for When Buying an Outdoor TV

How about watching your favorite TV show while spending some time with your family in your outdoor entertaining area? Cooking a barbeque with your friends while catching the game on TV? You will be happy to know that outdoor television are becoming much more affordable, making what was once exclusive to only the wealthiest entertainers – something that you can consider installing for summer! You may install an outdoor LCD television on your pool side, patios, decks, and barbeques. They require no special care, and can even be hosed down to clean.

You might have thought about installing an ordinary indoor TV on your patios or decks but they are just not suitable for the outside environment. Ordinary televisions are vulnerable to sunshine, rain, dust and bugs. If you want to install a television on your deck or patios, you must buy an outdoor TV. When buying an outdoor TV, you must opt for a high quality outdoor TV brand which is offering you high quality outdoor weatherproof TV.

You will several TV suppliers in Australia selling a gamut of outdoor televisions including outdoor LED TV and outdoor LCD TV. Liquifi is Australia’s leading supplier of outdoor televisions and waterproof televisions, so you may want to check them out.

When buying an outdoor TV, you must look for several factors including quality, warranty and support services. You must ensure that your chosen outdoor television can provide you an excellent audio/video experience.

It is better to buy a purpose built TV for your outdoors because it will free you from worries of buying a weatherproof TV box, weatherproof TV cover and weatherproof TV enclosure along with your TV. Enclosures have their own issues – like heat dissipation, and internal reflection of the TV onto the enclosure glass, affecting visual performance. Some manufacturers may also void the warranty for use of an indoor television, outside – even if it is stored in an enclosure.

You must ensure that you are buying a high quality outdoor TV that will be able to survive in humidity, scorching heat, as well as rain. An outdoor television should come equipped with built-in cooling systems like internal fans or heat sinks. These systems dissipate the heat and ensure reliability of the LED/LCD screen.

The latest outdoor TVs come with an integrated anti-reflective glass and super bright display that enables you to watch television under brightness of the sun.

Also look for a waterproof remote – incase you leave it outside or want to control your television from your pool or spa.

You should consider purchasing an anti-theft lockable wall mount with your television, to ensure that it is secured and cannot be stolen while you’re away from home, or asleep inside.

When buying an outdoor TV, you must ensure that it has been incorporated with auto dimming features so that you may adjust your television screen according to the sunlight. An outdoor TV must be efficient enough to operate under high temperature. If you want to enjoy an ultimate television experience in your outdoor living spaces then buy a television with a large screen size. Outdoor televisions are available from 32 inches right up to 65 inches.

There are some reputable brands of waterproof and weather proof televisions who are offering a complete installation package – that is the outdoor television, cabling and lockable anti-theft wall mount.

You must also make it sure that an outdoor TV supplier is offering you a trusted warranty and support services to gain your confidence. A warranty or guarantee may help you in reducing your doubts about a supplier. Some suppliers offer a 12 month warranty that is extend able to 3 years.

Bathroom Renovation – Consider Adding a Television to Add Value

While pondering a bathroom renovation, I came across an amazing idea: a bathroom LCD TV! Why would anyone want a bathroom TV? Well, aside from the sheer fun and relaxation factor - a bathroom TV LCD will also add tremendous value to my home: a factor that is never far from my mind in today’s economic climate. Realtor.org found that in 2009 a bathroom renovation recouped about 80% of cost outlay in added home value. More recent numbers seem consistent with this.  Real estate agents know that ‘kitchens and bathrooms sell a home,’ and now you do too!

So with the bathroom television concept no longer a frivolous one in my mind, I set out to investigate. First item was to confirm that yes, this is a waterproof TV (whew, I’ve watched enough CSI to understand the importance of this!) Many of the accompanying remote controls are waterproof (some of them even float!) The units can be built in flush with the wall, or can be mirror mounted into a bathroom mirror TV. Ooooh! This suited my tastes perfectly as I was determined to make my new bathroom one that looked elegant and luxurious (both to make it reflect my personality as well as to further increase the value-added factor.)

Waterproof TV suppliers have really thought this through and include other cutting edge features like: a variety of inputs (PC, HDMI), optional wireless audio/video inputs and a screen that is heated to stop condensation and fogging up. By this point I was excited, even thrilled about the idea. To add further luxury there is also an optional ‘mirror finish;’ when the TV unit is shut off, it looks like a tasteful mirror. This trick not only adds beauty, but takes into consideration that there might be a few people that you would prefer not knowing your little ‘LCD in bathroom’ secret.

Well, this opened all kinds of possibilities for my bathroom renovation, and the hunt for bathroom TV suppliers was on! But first, I needed to decide what kind of television would suit my needs.  Since LED technology is still unfolding (apparently these will end up being amazingly thin) they remain expensive, so not for me. A bit of research revealed that plasma TVs used to dominate the market because they were bigger and had a better picture, but the LCD’s have now caught up.  Plasma is better as far as contrast goes, for side viewing and for fast moving images (think car chases or sports) or if your dream television is very large. The key benefit to LCD is less power consumption, however, LCD is better for use as a waterproof TV as the heat from the LCD screen has a beneficial side effect: it makes the screen impervious to fogging! They seem to tie when it comes to longevity. But, as with any major purchase, due diligence is critical. The thought of being able to have another computer monitor (using LCD TV in bathroom) and to use less power were pretty appealing to me, so my choice was an LCD TV for bathroom use.

Next step was to check out suppliers of  waterproof TV Australia to find my new waterproof LCD.   And that led me to the most perfect bathroom LCD imaginable: small, sleek and mirrored: it has added a lot of enjoyment (and value) to my home. This little room has gone from serviceable to spectacular. The only problem with having a bathroom LCD is that I now spend a lot of time in that room! So if you are considering a makeover for your bathroom, or spa consider adding a waterproof LCD TV. You may find yourself cleaner, happier and more productive than ever!
